Piedmont Press

It is my pleasure to serve as local association president this year. Additional board members include:
Brooks Turner - Vice President
Luke Hollingsworth - Secretary
Bi Lambeth - Treasurer
Meeting & Tournament Advisor - Brent Gentel
Directors - Mark Shaw, Jeff Corn, Josh York and Paul Johnson

Being elected president this year came at a great time for the PGCSA and me. Last year the PGCSA joined the CGCSA local association admin support program. This program, which we are all becoming more familiar with, continues the growth of the PGCSA. Russell Hill and I worked on this program last year when it was started. This will be our first full year in the program and will require some adjustments on everybody's part so we can truly benefit from the program.

Some of these changes have already taken place. At our annual meeting this year we voted on a change in our bylaws. This change was to membership classification and allows the PGCSA and the Carolinas GCSA to mesh together. We did miss one change in regards to membership dues. For the last three years the Piedmont has offered an incentive allowing an assistant to join free with a superintendent member for the cost of $40 with additional assistants/spray techs at $15. The Carolinas GCSA need separate invoices from each member to keep records straight. Previous year's incentives did not allow for individual records, therefore at our first meeting of the year we will need to take a vote on the dues, removing the incentive and establishing the assistant dues at $15. This does come a little late since everybody already has their dues invoice but it is the right thing to do - our assistant members deserve their own individuality.
